Arsenal have been handed a potential boost in their pursuit of Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimarães after reports claimed the Brazil international has informed his club of his desire to join the Gunners if a deal can be agreed this summer.
The midfielder has been repeatedly linked with a move away from St James’ Park in recent transfer windows, but Newcastle have consistently maintained that one of their key players is not for sale. Fresh reports, however, suggest Guimarães would welcome the opportunity to make the switch to north London should ARSENAL formalise their interest.
While neither club has commented publicly on the speculation, the latest rumours have intensified discussion surrounding one of the Premier League’s most highly rated midfielders.

Guimarães has developed into one of Newcastle’s most influential performers since arriving from Lyon in January 2022. Renowned for his composure in possession, defensive work rate and ability to dictate the tempo of matches, the Brazilian has become a cornerstone of Eddie Howe’s midfield and a fan favourite on Tyneside.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is understood to remain keen on adding further quality in midfield as he continues to strengthen a squad expected to challenge for major honours once again.
Guimarães’ blend of technical quality, Premier League experience and leadership qualities would make him a natural fit for Arsenal’s style of play, although completing a deal is expected to be far from straightforward.
