Liverpool plot move for Tottenham target who had an up-and-down 2025/26 PL season at 7 G/A

Tottenham-linked Brighton attacker wanted by Liverpool.

Tottenham Hotspur have plans to recruit a winger or two capable of improving the starting XI. The Lilywhites have still not managed to replace Son Heung-min completely, and there is a strong belief amongst the fans that our club needs to sign another winger just a year after signing Mohammed Kudus in a high-profile deal from West Ham.

Roberto De Zerbi likes his wide players to be aggressive, dynamic and technically proficient, so the N17 chiefs must bring in a winger who would provide a different dynamic in the attack as compared to the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Mathys Tel. So, the Spurs boss must make sure that the new signing complements Kudus and Tel’s attributes and keeps them on their toes next season.

Tottenham are looking to bolster their attacking options for next season as they aim to build on their rollicking start to the summer transfer window. The lack of options in wide areas might cause major problems for De Zerbi if the problem is not addressed in the coming weeks.

Liverpool plot move for Tottenham-linked Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh

It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing Yankuba Minteh from Brighton and Hove Albion. The Gambian international had an up-and-down 2025/26 season at the Amex Stadium, notching just three goals and four assists in 34 Premier League appearances.

However, according to a report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool are keen on Yankuba Minteh and are preparing a proposal for the 21-year-old. They view the Brighton talent as an alternative to RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande in their search for a future Mohamed Salah successor.

The Reds’ pursuit of Diomande has become difficult lately. RB Leipzig are holding out for a mammoth fee, while the Ivory Coast speedster’s preference remains joining Paris Saint-Germain. Also, the Merseyside giants have already seen a bid rejected for the RB Leipzig winger. This has led to Liverpool stepping up their pursuit of Minteh.

The report adds that Brighton remain in a strong position due to Minteh’s contract still having three more years to run. They are demanding a fee in the region of £70-80 million for the African talent, who can play on both flanks.

From Tottenham’s perspective, signing Minteh will certainly bolster the attacking line for the next few years. However, our club chiefs should not spend a significant fee for his services. The Lilywhites have other alternatives in the market that would come in for a much lower transfer fee and would also provide good cover to Kudus.

Spurs have an interest in AC Milan star Rafael Leao as well, and the Portuguese international would do a solid job for the North London club for a lower price.
