A new update has now emerged regarding the future of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, but does it affect Liverpool’s approach?
The wide man is currently on 2026 World Cup duty for France, proving to be a key squad player and hoping to start against Morocco in the quarter-finals on Thursday evening.
Barcola is seen as a key attacking option for Liverpool this summer, especially with Yan Diomande looking more likely to choose PSG, and now a new twist has dropped.
According to a report from L’Equipe, PSG have slapped a £127.8m price tag on the 23-year-old, meaning the Reds will have to break the bank to get their man.
Liverpool are among the clubs still showing an interest in the Frenchman, with Arsenal also seeing him as someone who could bring quality in the final third. The update adds that PSG signing Diomande could allow them to move Barcola on.

Barcola is a fantastic young winger who is enjoying an impressive World Cup with France, scoring twice and bagging one assist, with former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy talking him up over Diomande:
“I hope so because I think he’s a terrific player. I don’t think they should have been looking at Diomande for the money they were talking about anyway. He is a super talent, but that’s all he is: a talent. He’s a prospect. Paying over the odds for a player based on potential. I’m not sure over £100m for a player who hasn’t a body of work that justifies that money was the right way to go. In a way, it might be a blessing.”
Whether Barcola is worth as much as £127.8m is up for debate, considering that amount should arguably be saved for a world-class player who is a guaranteed game-changer.
Granted, price tags do feel bloated in the modern game, so it may not sound as much as it once did, but the PSG man isn’t a definite starter for club or country, proving to be a strong impact substitute instead.
He has the potential to be a wonderful signing for Liverpool, but that being said, a right-sided winger has to take precedence for now, ensuring Mohamed Salah is sufficiently replaced.
Barcola is at his best on the left, like new signing Victor Munoz, so unless Andoni Iraola plans on using one differently, it may make sense to look elsewhere.
