Arsenal are closing in on their third signing of the summer with a £35million deal for Christos Tzolis set to be rubber-stamped. The Club Brugge star had emerged as a target for the Gunners as they attempt to add to their wide options.
Leandro Trossard is set for a move to Besiktas after the World Cup which has left a vacancy on the left wing. Tzolis is seen as the perfect man to fill that gap, and he is now close to a move to the Emirates Stadium.
According to The Sun, Arsenal are close to agreeing a £35m deal for his services in what will see him become the most expensive Greek player of all time. Tzolis, 24, has scored 43 goals over the past two seasons for Club Brugge, having joined the Belgian side from Norwich City in 2024.
And while Mikel Arteta is expected to green light his move to North London, Arsenal remain keen to add even more new faces to their squad. It is suggested that Tzolis’ arrival will not impact the Gunners’ interest in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.
The England star is still Arsenal’s top target, albeit Villa remain keen on keeping him and have slapped a £130m price tag on the 23-year-old. Arsenal are also set to step up their interest in Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes, who has asked to leave St James’ Park.
Away from their attack, Mikel Arteta has already sealed two additions this summer. Arsenal have completed the permanent signing of Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen following last season’s loan.
The Gunners have also signed former Leeds goalkeeper Ilian Meslier on a free transfer following his exit from Elland Road. He has penned a two-year deal with the option for an additional year.

After his move was made official, Meslier said: "I’m extremely happy. It's a great day for me because I have just joined the champions. For me, Arsenal is the biggest club in England.
“I'm very happy and very proud to join Arsenal. I cannot wait to show the love that I've got for this badge, and I cannot wait to win trophies with this team, because this is a club that needs to lift trophies again and again."
The French goalkeeper added: “First of all, I want to start [working] with the keepers, to show my levels, to continue to develop my skills, my ability. And then obviously to gain some game time, because this is what I missed last year.
“This year, I want to show that I want to play. I cannot wait to show the love that I've got for this badge, and I cannot wait to lift some trophies, because this is a club that needs to lift trophies again and again.”
