There has been plenty of discussion surrounding Liverpool’s need for new signings this summer.
Supporters understandably want reinforcements.
A right winger.
More defensive depth.
Additional competition across the squad.
Those conversations are perfectly valid.
But perhaps the biggest improvement Liverpool can make next season won’t come from the transfer market at all.
It could come from getting more out of the players already at the club.
And there is no better example than Florian Wirtz.

His football is built around intensity, vertical attacks and creating situations where creative players receive the ball in dangerous areas.
Rather than slowing the game down, Iraola encourages quick transitions and positive football.
That philosophy could suit Wirtz perfectly.
The German international thrives when he receives possession between the lines with runners ahead of him.
Liverpool will hope Iraola creates exactly those situations on a regular basis.
Better Coaching, Not Just Better Players
It is easy to assume every problem can be solved by buying another player.
Sometimes that is true.

There is enormous pressure on the German international.

The good news is that he possesses the talent to embrace it.
If Iraola can build the team around his strengths, Liverpool could have one of the most influential attacking midfielders in world football at the centre of everything they do.
Transfers Still Matter
None of this means Liverpool should ignore the transfer market.
The squad still requires strengthening.
Depth remains important.
Competition raises standards.
But supporters should also remember that football isn’t only about who arrives.
It is about who improves.
And if Andoni Iraola succeeds in unlocking the full potential of Florian Wirtz, Liverpool may already have the biggest signing they need.
Sometimes the answer isn’t spending another £80 million.
Sometimes it’s helping an £80 million player become the very best version of himself.
And that could make all the difference next season.
