Andoni Iraola has now been scheduled for his first official press conference as Liverpool manager.
The Spaniard took over from Arne Slot as the Reds manager in early June, with the Dutchman being relieved of his duties shortly after the campaign ended.
It came after the club’s hierarchy held a post-season review in which they felt that it was untenable for Slot to continue at the helm.
The former Reds boss has since been touted as an early frontrunner for the now vacant Netherlands hotseat after Ronald Koeman tendered his resignation following the nation’s round of 32 World Cup exit at the hands of Morrocco.
It’s been reported that Slot has actually even held initial talks with the Dutch FA.
But Liverpool fans will instead be wanting to look forward to the new era under Andoni Iraola.
The Liverpool Echo has reported that Iraola will hold his first press conference at the AXA Training Centre at 11 am on Monday morning, 13 July.
Iraola has already been involved in U21 training this week, with early preparatory work being done by some senior players at the AXA including the likes of Harvey Elliott and Jeremy Jacquet.
However, Liverpool will not be at full strength straight away.
A number of key figures, including captain Virgil van Dijk, have been granted extended breaks after their involvement at the World Cup and are set for a staggered return.
Van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Ryan Gravenberch are expected to report back only in the latter part of July, meaning Iraola’s early sessions will lean heavily on those already back at Kirkby and the younger players desperate to catch his eye.
Liverpool will then jet off to the United States later this month on 20 July.
The Reds face Sunderland in Nashville on July 25, Wrexham at Yankee Stadium on July 29, and Leeds United at Soldier Field in Chicago on August 2.
