Everton asked to avoid signing 12-goal Tottenham star who is now in the final year of his…

The forward has entered the final year of his contract at Tottenham.

Having signed a five-year contract, head coach Roberto De Zerbi looks set to stick around for the long haul at Tottenham Hotspur. The club’s hierarchy have backed De Zerbi to the hilt by signing as many as six players since the summer transfer window commenced on June 15.

But the Italian manager is in no mood to stop, and the focus has rightly shifted to improving the options in attack. At the same time, the expectations within the N17 offices are that several Tottenham stars will exit the club this summer. Radu Dragusin has kicked off the exodus by joining Fiorentina on a season-long loan earlier this week, while the futures of Richarlison, Cristian Romero and Guglielmo Vicario remain up in the air.

As far as Richarlison is concerned, the forward was the club’s top scorer last season with 12 goals in all competitions. The Brazilian international was one of the rare bright spots in an otherwise terrible campaign that almost ended in relegation from the top flight. The 29-year-old has entered the final year of his contract, and there is a possibility that Tottenham end up cashing him in this summer.

Bryan King advises Everton amid their pursuit of Richarlison

It was reported earlier this year that Everton are planning to re-sign Richarlison during the summer transfer window. David Moyes is unconvinced by both Beto and Thierno Barry and wants the Tottenham man to improve his forward ranks in Merseyside.

Richarlison became a cult hero during his time at Everton. The versatile forward scored 53 goals for the Toffees in four years and has maintained a positive relationship with the fans since his move to Tottenham in 2022. However, former Spurs scout Bryan King has advised Everton not to take Richarlison back.

“He was bad news at Everton, and he was bad news at Tottenham,” Bryan King exclusively told Football Insider.

“If they take him back, good luck to them. Because for me, he’s not the fella I’d want at my football club. And I’ve heard that from different people within Tottenham and Everton.

“He’s not a good club man. Or in the dressing room, Richarlison. If Everton do that, I’d be very disappointed. If Everton bring him back, they’re desperate.”

Turkish clubs lining up for Richarlison

Richarlison is not short of suitors across Europe. He has been the subject of an offer from one of Turkey’s top clubs in the past couple of weeks. Despite the Brazilian having struggled to deliver his best in a Spurs shirt due to chronic injury problems and inconsistency, he appears to have a market in the Turkish Super Lig.

Spurs want to offload Richarlison and get a decent fee to reinvest in acquiring our attacking targets. It remains to be seen whether Everton join the Turkish clubs in the race to sign Richarlison.
