REPORT: Arsenal Hold A 'Strong Interest' In 23 Goal Striker

**Arsenal are pursuing the signature of Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, according to reports in the Belgian media.**

Newspaper [_Het Nieuwsblad_](https://www.nieuwsblad.be/sport/voetbal/nicolo-tresoldi-grof-wild-op-de-transfermarkt-arsenal-as-roma-en-atletico-madrid-tonen-interesse-in-de-spits-van-club-brugge/158449185.html) claims that the Gunners are one of three clubs who hold a “strong interest” in the Italian-born German youth international.

Serie A side Roma and La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are also said to be keeping close tabs on Tresoldi, who had an excellent season for Club Brugge following his transfer from Hannover 96 last summer.

The 21-year-old found the back of the net 23 times in all competitions, as well as providing 9 assists.

Why are Arsenal interested in the forward?

------------------------------------------

The Premier League champions are expected to sell Gabriel Jesus before the transfer window closes. The Brazilian international has less than a year left on his contract, and he won’t be given an extension.

A £20m asking price has been slapped on the striker, and if he does leave the Emirates over the coming days and weeks, a replacement will be needed.

Sporting director Andrea Berta has likely identified Tresoldi as a promising young forward who could be a suitable understudy for the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz.

Tresoldi is not the only Club Brugge player being targeted

----------------------------------------------------------

It has been [**confirmed**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-transfer-news-christos-tzolis-2/) by _The Athletic_‘s James McNicholas that the German Under-21 international’s club teammate, Christos Tzolis, is also a top target for Arsenal.

The Greek international made even more goal contributions than Tresoldi last campaign (51 in all competitions, which comprised of 22 goals and 29 assists).

Tzolis is expected to replace Leandro Trossard, who has an offer on the table from Besiktas. A €20m (£17m) fee has been agreed, and a delegation from the Turkish Super Lig side is expected to fly out to the United States to discuss personal terms with the player, who is still at the World Cup with Belgium.
