Sheffield United are said to have made contact with an Everton legend
Sheffield United are said to have made exploratory contact with Everton legend Seamus Coleman.
After 16 years of dedicated service to the Toffees, the veteran defender is a free agent and facing a key decision over his future.
The 37-year-old has not yet decided whether he will continue playing or move into coaching, but it appears a South Yorkshire opportunity could arise for the Republic of Ireland international.

Sheffield United make ‘contact’ with Everton legend
According to The Star, Sheffield United have made contact with the vastly-experienced right-back about the possibility of a move to Bramall Lane.
He is not thought to be training with the Championship club - and nothing is said to be imminent - but he would be an interesting addition to Chris Wilder’s squad.
Not only has Coleman did spend years as a key figure for an established Premier League club, he is highly-regarded as a consummate professional.
He is a player who would perhaps be able to raise and maintain standards at Bramall Lane, something Wilder may be keen on after seeing his side struggle last term.
Coleman would be going into the club as a competitor for Femi Seriki, who could potentially benefit from having such a seasoned operator alongside him in the right-back department.

Seamus Coleman’s future
When asked about his future back in May, Coleman said: “I have always said in my career, family first, football second, they are the only two things going for me, family and football. So family will absolutely come into it, but I honestly haven't thought too much about a club or what is next.
“I am looking forward to these two Ireland games and am looking forward to going on holiday, but in football, you never know what will happen. Just see what is next, if it feels right or if it doesn't.”
