William Saliba helped France to a sixth win of the 2026 World Cup as his country beat Morocco 2-0 to book their spot in the semi-finals.
Les Blues dominated the first half, but a resilient Moroccan defence kept the two-time World Champions at bay, largely thanks to Yassine Bounou saving Kylian Mbappe's penalty.
But Mbappe wasn't to be denied for long, as the Real Madrid striker bent an incredible effort into the far corner on the hour mark to finally give France the breakthrough their dominance had deserved.
It was something of a milestone goal for Mbappe, as it marked his 20th goal in as many World Cup games, putting him just one behind Argentina's Lionel Messi in the all-time goal scoring list.
Six minutes later it was two, this time the moment of magic coming from Ousmane Dembele. The Paris Saint-Germain winger charged forward and picked out the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area, putting his side in complete control.
Morocco grew into the game after the second-half hydration break, and put France under pressure for the first time in the tie, but France's Wilo-led defence held out for their fourth clean sheet in six games, and their third out of three in the knockout stages.
Didier Deschamp's side won't have to wait long to find out who they'll face in the semi-finals, with Spain taking on Belgium tonight (8pm UK) in Los Angeles, and the winner facing France in Dallas for the first place in the 2026 final.
