Alexander Isak has been tipped to rediscover the form that justified his record move to Liverpool in the upcoming season.
Swedish football legend Anders Limpar believes the Reds striker will "score at least 15 goals" for Andoni Iraola as he looks to put a torrid debut campaign firmly behind him under the new head coach.
Isak joined Liverpool in a British-record transfer from Newcastle United on 1 September, bringing an end to a summer-long saga that saw the Swedish international effectively down tools to engineer his dream move.
Arriving short of full fitness having missed a proper pre-season, Isak needed considerable time to reach peak condition before suffering a broken leg while netting in a 2-1 victory at Tottenham Hotspur on 20 December.
The injury kept him sidelined for four months, and the No. 9 ultimately concluded the campaign with a meagre three Premier League goals as Arne Slot's side limped to a fifth-place finish on the final day of the season, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Nevertheless, former Arsenal and Everton winger Limpar remains firmly behind his fellow Swede, backing Isak to establish himself as a key figure in Liverpool's revamped set-up, with the striker due to link up with Iraola later this month following a post-World Cup break.
"I'm always confident in Alexander Isak," Limpar told Rekatochklart. "He's been struggling with the injuries.
"He had bad injuries with his ankle injury, with the operations and everything, and then he pulled his groin a couple of times. You can see that he wasn't back in his best form, but he is playing.
"And when you play the Premier League, you will never, ever, ever get to play in that heat, which I think many of the players couldn't cope with.

"I'm actually looking forward to the Premier League and Liverpool with Isak because he's looking better and better and better now, and then if he can rest up a little bit now and have a good, good pre-season.
"He's going to be the prospect. I can tell you now that he's going to score at least 15 goals or more."
