Anthony Barry believes that Jordan Henderson could bag a coaching role under Thomas Tuchel when his playing career concludes. The 36-year-old was included in the England squad to challenge for the World Cup in North America this summer.
However, he has only managed a total of 12 minutes at the tournament, and is not expected to make any more appearances as a result of breaking his wrist on Monday morning. The Sunderland-born midfielder slipped while trying to jump over an advertising hoarding at the Estadio Azteca in the aftermath of England's 3-2 win over Mexico in the last 16.
And while he has since undergone surgery on the injury, he is all but ruled out of featuring for his nation for the remainder of the competition, instead, forced to watch his team-mates from the wings. With stiff competition in the engine room this summer, Henderson's call-up may not have entirely come from technical ability in the twilight years of his career, but more so, the leadership he provides both on and off the pitch.
It's a point that England assistant Barry recently pointed out, singing the Brentford star's praises while tipping him for a role in management when he eventually calls time on a remarkable playing career. He told talkSPORT: "I see everything in Jordan.
"I'm so in awe of him as a player, a person and also maybe a future coach. It's maybe more of a question for Jordan."
He continued: "He has it all, he's the full package, he's a serial winner as a player and an elite person off the pitch. And when it comes to football IQ, he can really hold court with anyone and the best of them.
"So the future is bright for Jordan, I'm sure. Maybe one day he takes my seat, kicks me off, and Thomas replaces me. But if I was to be replaced by Jordan, it would be a fantastic pick."
It comes as England are set to take on Norway at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Saturday evening in the quarter-finals of the tournament. Kick-off is scheduled for 10pm BST.

However, Henderson is not the only player Tuchel will be without for the encounter. Jarell Quansah picked up a red card early in the second-half of England's win over Mexico, and will serve a two-match suspension as a result.
As a result, the Bayer Leverkusen defender is ineligible to feature for the Three Lions until the final, should England make it that far. Reece James should be fit to feature against Norway having made major progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury, while Djed Spence is also an option for Tuchel.
Concerns also surround Marc Guehi, who missed training sessions this week after picking up a slight hamstring injury of his own against Mexico. An inability to train on Friday would make it unlikely for the Manchester City centre-half to feature against Norway.
