Anthony Barry reckons that Jordan Henderson could secure a coaching position under Thomas Tuchel once he hangs up his boots. The 36 year old earned his place in the England squad competing for the World Cup in North America this summer.
Yet, he has accumulated just 12 minutes of action throughout the tournament, and isn't anticipated to feature again after fracturing his wrist on Monday morning. The midfielder took a tumble while attempting to leap over advertising boards at the Estadio Azteca following England's 3-2 triumph against Mexico in the round of 16.
And while he has since had an operation on the injury, he is virtually certain to miss the rest of the tournament for his country, instead being compelled to observe his colleagues from the sidelines.
With fierce competition for places in midfield this summer, Henderson's selection may not have stemmed entirely from his technical prowess in the latter stages of his career, but rather, the captaincy qualities he brings both on and off the field.
It's an observation that England assistant Barry recently highlighted, praising the Brentford star while suggesting he could pursue a career in coaching when he ultimately draws the curtain on an outstanding playing journey. He told talkSPORT: "I see everything in Jordan.
"I'm so in awe of him as a player, a person and also maybe a future coach. It's maybe more of a question for Jordan.", reports the Mirror.
He continued: "He has it all, he's the full package, he's a serial winner as a player and an elite person off the pitch. And when it comes to football IQ, he can really hold court with anyone and the best of them.
"So the future is bright for Jordan, I'm sure. Maybe one day he takes my seat, kicks me off, and Thomas replaces me. But if I was to be replaced by Jordan, it would be a fantastic pick."

This comes as England prepare to face Norway at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Saturday in the tournament's quarter-finals.
Henderson isn't the only absentee Tuchel will have to contend with for the fixture. Jarell Quansah received an early second-half red card during England's victory over Mexico, resulting in a two-match ban.
Consequently, the Bayer Leverkusen defender cannot play for the Three Lions until the final, should England progress that far. Reece James is expected to be available for selection against Norway having made significant strides in recovering from a hamstring problem, while Djed Spence represents another option for Tuchel.

There are also worries regarding Marc Guehi, who sat out training sessions this week following a minor hamstring issue sustained against Mexico. Missing Friday's training would cast serious doubt over the Manchester City centre-back's availability for the Norway clash.
