Reece James, Marc Guehi and Declan Rice all trained on the eve of England's World Cup quarter-final showdown with Norway.

The Three Lions will face Erling Haaland and Co in Miami on Saturday night with a place in the final four at stake. But Thomas Tuchel has once again been forced to contend with several fitness headaches in the build-up to the big game, mainly centred around his defence.

James has been absent since England's draw with Ghana due to a hamstring issue, while Jarell Quansah was sent off and is now banned for two matches after playing at right-back in the thrilling round of 16 win over Mexico.

It now seems, though, as the Chelsea defender is back in the frame after training with the rest of the team on Friday.

James was joined by Guehi and Rice, both of whom missed training on Wednesday.

Guehi is understood to have felt his hamstring after the Mexico game, potentially leaving Tuchel with the prospect of another defensive reshuffle. Rice, who has also helped briefly fill the problem right-back area, has been suffering with illness.

Jordan Henderson was the only player absent from Friday's session after undergoing surgery on a broken wrist.
