Bruno Guimaraes is looking to leave Newcastle United and explore a potential move to Arsenal.
Bruno Guimaraes has enlisted controversial football agent Kia Joorabchian to help secure his Arsenal switch.
Newcastle United are once again at the centre of another summer transfer saga. Last year, Alexander Isak downed tools to force through a British record move to Liverpool.
Toon CEO David Hopkinson has publicly stated that he aims to avoid another toxic situation. The Magpies acted swiftly to move on Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, with both declaring their desire to leave months ago.
However, Newcastle have been somewhat blindsided by Guimaraes. Speculation is rife that Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with the Brazilian - despite no direct club-to-club contact.
The Gunners are hoping to pay around £60million for the midfielder - wide of Newcastle’s valuation. Guimaraes is currently on a break following the World Cup and will not begin pre-season training with the rest of his Toon teammates on Monday.

Bruno Guimaraes hires Kia Joorabchian
Guimaraes’ long-term agent is fellow Brazilian Alexis Malavolta. He has a close association with Giuliano Bertolucci, who helped broker Arsenal’s deals for Gabriel and David Luiz.
It is understood that the pair have drafted in “super agent” Joorabchian to help facilitate an Arsenal move. The Iranian-born businessman first came to prominence as part of the Carlos Tevez controversy involving West Ham and Sheffield United - in 2007.
His investment firm, Media Sports Investments, purchased the economic and registration rights to Tevez and Javier Mascherano, forcing the Premier League to ban third-party ownership in football. Joorabchian is renowned as a deal-maker - particularly with South American stars.
Newcastle United stance
As mentioned, Newcastle are yet to receive a formal approach from Arsenal. While the club wish to avoid Isak 2.0, they do not want - or need - to sell their captain.
Offloading Gordon and Tonali has given the Magpies headroom in the market. For now, Newcastle sit and wait for the Gunners to formalise their interest.
Unlike the Isak saga - where the transfer fee was never considered an obstacle - the two clubs remain apart in terms of valuation. Any sale would be done on Newcastle’s terms, who are keen to avoid looking weak after already losing two high-profile stars.
