Everton and Bournemouth have ‘made enquiries’ about Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz this summer.
Calciomercato.it report that Everton and Bournemouth have asked Juventus about the 28-year-old and whether the Italian side would be willing to sell him this summer.
Everton and Bournemouth enquire
Douglas Luiz has recently returned to Juventus following a loan spell at Aston Villa last season. That came in the second half of last season following a disappointing initial loan at Nottingham Forest.
He is ‘ready to prove himself’ at the Italian club after struggling to do so since a €51.5m move from Aston Villa in 2024.
Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti intends to keep a close eye on him during pre-season, but, in the meantime, there is renewed interest from England.
According to Calciomercato.it’s exclusive information, Everton and Bournemouth have made inquiries about the Brazilian midfielder. Both clubs want to ‘gauge’ whether Juventus are willing to sell him during the summer transfer window.
Juventus have indicated, initially at least, that they are open to hearing any proposals. But the final decision will rest with Spalletti, who first wants to test the Brazilian in a playmaker role in his team. The 28-year-old’s future, therefore, remains to be seen.
Everton’s long-term interest
Bournemouth’s interest is new, but Everton have been linked for a while. Sport Witness covered numerous reports last year about their interest in the Brazilian midfielder.
The Toffees appeared keen on signing him last summer if they could secure a loan deal. In fact, back in July it was felt that he was pushing for a move to the Hill Dickinson stadium.
Everton, though, never progressed the deal beyond that initial interest. The midfielder then ended up at Nottingham Forest, which did not work out. His return to Aston Villa was marginally more successful, but the Villans elected not to re-sign him permanently.
Now Everton are back in the mix, alongside Bournemouth. For now, both have just made enquiries with Juventus about the 28-year-old.
