Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez met with Harry Kane ahead of England’s World Cup showdown with Norway.
The World Cup is in full swing as England prepares to take on Norway in Miami for a place in the semifinals. Whoever emerges victorious from Hard Rock Stadium will take on either Argentina or Switzerland, meaning their World Cup journey can continue.
The clash between England, who will be without Jarrell Quansah, and Norway pits two of the premier strikers at the World Cup against one another as Kane and Erling Haaland battle for supremacy. Ahead of the game, the Bayern Munich star and England captain linked up with another iconic name who knew how to put the ball in the back of the net: Suarez.
The former Liverpool forward played in four FIFA World Cups for Uruguay from 2010 to 2022, scoring 7 goals in 16 appearances. Remarkably, Haaland has as many goals in just four matches, while Kane has six in 2026 but 14 to his name across his career.
Ahead of the game, Suarez linked up with Kane. He took to social media to post a photo of the pair exchanging international jerseys, along with the caption: “With a great 9! A pleasure to meet you @HKane.”
Speaking on his TikTok ahead of the quarterfinal, Inter Miami star Suarez predicted Kane and England to advance. The 39-year-old said: “England vs. Norway: a really good match, it’s going to be very evenly matched, but I think England will go through.”
Suarez’s belief bodes well. The Uruguayan also backed France to defeat Morocco and Spain to beat Belgium — two results that came through.

England have gone close in recent years, and a win would take them to the World Cup semifinals since 2018. However, this is uncharted territory for Norway, which is enjoying its greatest run in tournament history.
Kane, who met with Suarez in Miami, told reporters that he played golf with President Donald Trump in Florida last year. He said: “I played alright to be honest, but 18 months ago he invited me to play when I was down in Palm Beach.
“So when the president invites you somewhere, it was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him and obviously play golf with him. His golf is pretty good, to be honest with you.
“I hope I can play golf as good as him when I’m his age, that’s for sure. A unique experience, but I was just grateful that he invited me to play.”
