The update adds that they are happy to up their bid to £25m and “could stretch beyond that if required”, but that being said, “there remains a reluctance” to meet Liverpool’s £30m asking price for him.

It will be interesting to see what Liverpool’s stance is if that next improved offer arrives for Jones, with the Reds holding firm to date.
