Arsenal look poised to secure the signing of Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis.
The Gunners recently agreed a £17 million package to sell Leandro Trossard to Besiktas.
The Belgian has now agreed on personal terms, and a formal announcement could be made soon.
This could pave the way for Arsenal to finalise Tzolis’ transfer from Brugge.
Arsenal are already in advanced negotiations with the Belgian champions, and it has been reported that a transfer could go through for around £35 million.
Tzolis is reportedly waiting for the Gunners’ go-ahead to undergo his medical. The 24-year-old could be on his way once Trossard’s transfer is formalised.
Tzolis could emerge as a younger version of Trossard
Trossard made 19 goal contributions during the previous campaign, but only five of those came after the New Year. He had a notable dip in his performances.
Arsenal have made the right choice to sell him with a year left on his contract. Tzolis should prove to be a good acquisition, considering his progress with Brugge.
The Greece international bagged a sublime tally of 22 goals and 29 assists from 52 appearances for the Pro League champions during the 2025/26 season.
Tzolis primarily played from the left wing for Brugge. He dazzled with his dribbling, chance creation and ability to convert scoring chances from tight spaces.
Arsenal are expected to pursue a marquee winger alongside Tzolis, but the former Norwich City ace has the traits to be a younger version of Trossard. He possesses better pace and acceleration.
The Pro League is several levels below the Premier League in overall quality, but Tzolis showed last term that he can succeed in the Champions League too.
His goal contributions against Atalanta, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will no doubt have enhanced his reputation and convinced Arsenal to secure a deal.
Tzolis looks poised to join Arsenal as their first major outfield signing this summer.
