Liverpool’s preparations for the new season will be kicked up a notch this week - and fans will hope that means more signings soon.
Andoni Iraola will speak to the media at his first press conference as the Reds’ new head coach later today, and there will be plenty for him to discuss before he welcomes more of his squad for the official start of pre-season.
As things stand, Jeremy Jacquet will be the only new face among the playing squad, with Victor Munoz still away at the World Cup with Spain, and there is every chance that the first-team group could end up getting pruned further.
Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the latest transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds.
Curtis Jones (Liverpool)
Inter Milan is prepared to make a third bid for Curtis Jones this summer, according to TeamTalk.
The Serie A champions have already had two bids rejected for the midfielder, with Liverpool looking for around $47 million (£35M), while Inter's highest offer so far has been $29 million (€25M).
This new report suggests Liverpool is prepared to negotiate, but has made it clear it won't go below $40M (£30M). Inter is claimed to be readying a new offer of around $34M (£25M) and could stretch beyond that, but remains reluctant to meet the Reds' asking price.

Liverpool.com says: If that is what Inter is planning on offering next, then we're sure Liverpool won't be too thrilled. Clearly, the Reds aren't too worried about losing Jones for nothing next summer, so Inter needs to decide whether it's really serious about signing him this summer, or just waiting for next year.
We may well find out what Iraola's plans are for Jones soon, which may clear up whether he'll be staying put next season. It won't be an easy choice for the 25-year-old, but if he decides to pursue an opportunity elsewhere, you couldn't really blame him.
Lutsharel Geertruida (RB Leipzig)
Liverpool is once again monitoring Lutsharel Geertruida, according to Caught Offside, as Iraola looks for a flexible option in defense.
Geertruida was targeted by the Reds last season under Arne Slot, having also played under the former Liverpool boss at Feyenoord. With Sunderland unable to find a replacement in time though, the deal never materialized.

Now back at RB Leipzig, it's claimed that both Liverpool and Arsenal are interested, with both sides looking at right-back options who could offer some versatility. It's suggested that Geertruida could be available for around $29 million (€25M), although no bids have been made by either club so far.
Liverpool.com says: Geertruida is a signing that would make a lot of sense. Having that extra option at right-back and someone who can cover in central defense is what Liverpool is crying out for.

That price tag makes him even more tempting, and clearly he has his admirers at Anfield. Whether he's quite at the level desired for either right-back or center-back for Liverpool might be an issue though.
