Enzo Maresca is planning to offer Jack Grealish the chance to impress in pre-season at Man City as Everton eye another move this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Pep Guardiola allowed Grealish to leave City on loan last summer after he had fallen out of favour in his squad.

He impressed in his stint at Everton but saw his influence cut short after suffering a season-ending foot injury in January.

The Toffees are keen to agree another deal to sign Grealish, who may feel as if he has unfinished business on Merseyside.

His time at the Etihad Stadium may not be over just yet though, after I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast that a City revival is not out of the question under new boss Maresca.

He is keen to give every contracted first-team player a fair chance to prove themselves in pre-season, with Grealish officially in training after returning to the club at the start of July.

Jack Grealish's Everton return in doubt after Enzo Maresca pre-season reveal

Grealish proved that he still has a lot to give in the Premier League last season, with some star turns that saw him win the top flight's Player of the Month award for last August.

Doubts remain over the futures of other Citizens attackers, with the 30-year-old potentially in line to return to the first-team squad if he impresses over the next few weeks.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "A lot will depend on what Maresca wants to do. I think he will have a look at Grealish in pre-season to see how he gets on.

"f Manchester City were to lose some of their other wingers, then it might open the door for Grealish to be reintegrated into the City fold, but look, Everton are still waiting to see what their decision is."

Savinho to Tottenham awaiting announcement after deal completed

Grealish was partly pushed down the pecking order at City due to Savinho's £30million arrival from Troyes in 2024.

The Brazilian winger has struggled to ever nail down a regular starting spot since the move, with just seven goals scored in 84 club appearances.

He has been heavily linked with a move away over the last six months, and sources recently exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Tottenham have already agreed a deal to sign Savinho this summer.

They have been hot on his trail for some time, and his imminent departure could see Grealish given a clearer path to a revival at the Etihad.
