Leeds United’s Gabriel Gudmundsson has outlined a clear stance on his future after links to Chelsea
Gabriel Gudmundsson has insisted he is happy at Leeds United following talk of interest from the club’s Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The 27-year-old arrived at Elland Road last summer, making a £10m move to West Yorkshire from Ligue 1 outfit Lille.
He enjoyed a stellar maiden campaign in LS11, making 32 Premier League appearances and helping Leeds stay afloat in the top flight.

Gabriel Gudmundsson’s clear stance on future
In an interview with Swedish outlet Hallandsposten, Gudmundsson has made it clear he is not itching to get away from Elland Road.
As quoted by Sport Witness, he said: “I haven’t had a focus on it because there has been so much with Leeds, the World Cup and then I have become a father now so I have really zoned out from that part of football. But it’s nice that they see me as an alternative and it’s a sign that something good has been done, then we’ll see what happens but I’m happy where I am.
“Everything is so professional. We have enjoyed ourselves since the first second we got there so we are very happy with the choice and are looking forward to what is to come.
“Hand on heart I can say that the Leeds fans are the best in England and they have supported us in a really good way this season. I don’t think you understand how big the club is until you are in it.”
Gabriel Gudmundsson’s stellar season
Gudmundsson started the season at left-back before moving into a wing-back role when Daniel Farke changed the Leeds formation in late November.
He thrived in both positions and it did not come as a surprise to Leeds fans when Gudmundsson secured a spot in Sweden’s World Cup squad.

He said: “It's difficult to place him [among the best left-backs] in the Premier League because he’s a wing-back. I think he's suited to that role more so than anything, but I do think there will be clubs looking at him in the Premier League thinking ‘yeah’. He'd certainly be one that teams would look to poach.”
