'You Cannot Seriously Pay That Fee' 'Hard Pass' Liverpool Fans React To Top Target's Eyewatering Asking Price

Paris Saint-Germain have “set” their asking price at €150m (£128m) for Liverpool transfer target Bradley Barcola, according to reports in the French media.

L’Equipe claim that the figure rules out most clubs from making bids, other than those in the Premier League.

Arsenal are mentioned as potential suitors for Barcola, but Liverpool are said to be “especially” keen on snapping up the player.

Supporters on X don’t believe the 23-year-old is worth the money, and some feel the Reds should pursue alternatives:

You cannot seriously pay that fee for a player who doesn’t consistently start for his club

Walk away. Sign both Said El Mala and Ibrahim Mbaye as our two right-wingers for the same cost as one Bradley Barcola!!!

Let's move on and sign a different player ASAP. Not worth more than €100 million.

Hard pass. Rather try and find an up and coming winger cause Barcola is NO where near a 150M player

He is a bench player for them. Doesnt add up.

Barcola is the standout candidate

The dearth of top-class wingers who are available this summer means that Liverpool may simply have to bite the bullet.

After losing out on Yan Diomande, sporting director Richard Hughes hasn’t really got much choice if he wants to bring in a suitable replacement for Mo Salah.

Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh, Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo and FC Cologne’s Said El Mala are thought to be the other targets under consideration, but the trio are nowhere near the level of Barcola, let alone Salah.

Liverpool could play the waiting game

Barcola has less than two years left on his contract at the Parc des Princes, and talks over an extension have stalled.

L’Equipe report that PSG are hoping to renew discussions after the World Cup, but if their efforts prove fruitless, they will have to make a decision on whether to sell the France international sooner rather than later.

If they let Barcola stay for another year and allow him to reach the final year of his current deal, his value will depreciate massively.

While he is by no means as good as Barcola, you only have to look at the price that Barcelona will be paying for Karim Adeyemi as an example.

He is just a year older than Barcola, but as his contract expires next year, Barca have managed to secure his signature for just €22m (£19m) up front.
