Arsenal are ready to finalise the transfer of Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge, with only Leandro Trossard’s potential move to Besiktas seemingly holding things up.

Almost a month after news broke of Arsenal’s interest in Christos Tzolis of Club Brugge, reports now suggest the Gunners are ready to finalise the deal.
Kostas Lianos reports for The S*n that Arsenal are close to an agreement for a fee in the region of £35m, and everything appears to be in place. The Gunners just need to give the final go-ahead so Tzolis can travel to London and sign his contract.

Fabrizio Romano confirms that Arsenal have maintained regular contact with Tzolis’ camp over the summer so far, with the player keen on the move.
The one thing holding up the transfer is seemingly Leandro Trossard, with the Arsenal winger to decide on a potential transfer to Besiktas. If that move goes ahead, the Tzolis one is seemingly set to follow shortly afterwards.
That makes sense, considering Arsenal have both Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli in their current squad, and they’re looking to add Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.
If no one leaves and Tzolis joins too, things start to look a little too congested on the left-wing. Arsenal likely want the guarantee of Trossard’s exit before making their first wide signing.

Arsenal have agreed a deal with Besiktas worth €20m (£17.1m) for Trossard, with an €18m upfront fee and another €2m in potential add-ons. Wages up to €9m and personal terms are in the process of being finalised, but the move was on hold until Belgium’s exit from the World Cup.
Belgium’s elimination by Spain on Friday night is seemingly the first domino to fall, and it could soon be followed by Trossard’s transfer to Besiktas and Tzolis’ to Arsenal.
