Newcastle United are getting tired of transfer stories linking Bruno Guimaraes with Arsenal for a paltry fee

Newcastle United have fired a fresh warning to Arsenal on Bruno Guimaraes - insisting they won't entertain any offers for their captain.
Chronicle Live understands talk of a £50million price tag, which has been leaked from the Arsenal end, has been dismissed as "laughable" by well placed Toon sources. And while reports of the Gunners believing they can get Bruno for what would be deemed a knockdown rate have been stood up, the reality is simple at the KNOX with pre-season now under way.
Bruno has been handed a return date and will be expected to report to prepare for the 2026/27 season and resume his captaincy and leadership responsibilities.
Well-placed sources confirmed to Chronicle Live that Bruno's transfer status remains the same, with the star 'not for sale'. We can also confirm that Newcastle are getting tired of leaks suggesting price tags for the player.
The reality is that there has been an approach from Arsenal, let alone a bid or offer for the former Lyon star. Those same sources said Newcastle 'won't entertain nonsense' on their skipper and don't want the saga to drag on like the Alexander Isak situation with Liverpool last summer.
The aim for Newcastle now will be to get Bruno 'back in the building' and get him settled down for the new season. But the proof will be in the pudding later this month when he is expected back.
Newcastle insist they are under no pressure to sell anybody else and that the SCR legacy issues were actually cleared up after the sale of Anthony Gordon to Barcelona for £69.3m. The Magpies did push through the £100m deal for Sandro Tonali but the funds have been reinvested into the squad for Bazoumana Toure from Hoffenheim and Sean Steur from Ajax, with more business to come.
Bruno has been handed a return date for the first week in August and is entitled to time off after the World Cup. It means that Bruno's first game of pre-season could be either Valencia at the Mestalla or the clash against Everton at Murrayfield on August 12.
Dan Burn, who has been brilliant with England in the States, is also now set for an extended break later next month after the Three Lions booked their place in the semi-finals and ensured they will stay in America for the last week of the tournament with at least a third-place play-off game now secured.
Burn came on as substitute against Norway and played his part in extra time as England secured a 2-1 win in the quarter-finals in Miami.
