Mohamed Salah’s post‑World Cup future is back under the microscope, with a swirl of interest from Turkey, MLS and Serie A.
Egypt’s controversial World Cup exit to Argentina has only intensified scrutiny on what comes next for Salah, whose Liverpool chapter has drawn to a close and left him free to weigh up one last major contract.

MLS has emerged as one of the most persistent themes in the Salah saga. Sporting Kansas City are reported to have put together a lucrative two‑year proposal to tempt Salah.
Sporting Kansas’ new majority owner Peter Mallouk, whose parents are Egyptian immigrants, could also be a factor in the club’s pursuit of the Liverpool legend.
Meanwhile, speculation around a transfer to Turkey caught wind when Salah’s agent posted a photo on a flight to Turkey, fuelling theories that he was heading there for talks with clubs such as Beşiktaş or Fenerbahçe.
While that picture alone proves nothing, it fed neatly into existing reports of Turkish sides exploring an ambitious marquee deal for the 34‑year‑old forward.
However, Beşiktaş’s president Serdar Adali has now moved to pour cold water on speculation, making clear that the club are not actively pursuing Salah this summer.
“It is not true that we are interested in signing Mohamed Salah this summer,” Besiktas president Adali said in a brief statement to Winwin.
A romantic return to Serie A has been floated too, with clubs such as Roma and Juventus mentioned as having explored the possibility of a move earlier in the window.
Salah’s successful past in Italy makes that link an easy one, but the numbers simply do not stack up: his last Liverpool deal was widely reported at around £400,000 per week plus bonuses, making him one of the highest‑paid players in Europe.
Salah has already suggested that any decision on his next club will only be made once the World Cup is over.
