Recent reports have indicated that Spurs are preparing an official offer for Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush. Roberto De Zerbi is a big admirer of the Egyptian international and wants to add him to his squad.
The Egyptian international has played second fiddle to Erling Haaland and has endured a challenging spell at Manchester City since making the move from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025. He struggled for regular opportunities this past campaign, starting just eight Premier League matches. This has led to several clubs monitoring the 27-year-old’s situation at the Etihad Stadium.
Now, according to a report from TEAMtalk, Omar Marmoush is set to hold crunch talks with Manchester City over his future amid growing interest from England and Germany. The player and his representatives want clarity from new Man City head coach Enzo Maresca to know where he fits into his plans before deciding whether to seek a new adventure or remain at the club.
It depends on what Maresca’s plans are for the Egyptian international, who was recently on World Cup duty. Should it become clear that regular minutes will again be difficult to clock, Marmoush and his agents are ready to explore new avenues.
Marmoush would be a good fit at Spurs
There is no indication of Marmoush forcing an exit from Man City at this stage. In fact, the current stance looks measured. Spurs are understood to have made enquiries about the forward as they continue to keep tabs on his situation. Our need is clear after underwhelming returns from attacking options last season.
Marmoush is quick, creative, smart and a composed finisher in front of goal, whilst offering flexibility that few available forwards can match. In a transfer market where experience, versatility and top-flight pedigree carry a premium, Tottenham must push hard to get the African star’s signature. He’d be a smart fit under De Zerbi at White Hart Lane.
However, they could face competition from Newcastle United, who are armed with a fresh £100 million injection after Sandro Tonali’s sale to the Lilywhites.
