Liverpool FC Women have continued their summer recruitment with the signing of goalkeeper Khiara Keating on a permanent deal following the expiry of her contract at Manchester City.
The 22-year-old reunites with head coach Gareth Taylor, having previously worked under him at City, and becomes Liverpool’s fourth signing of the summer.

A product of Manchester City’s academy, Keating made her senior debut at the age of 17 and has represented England at both youth and senior level, making her Lionesses debut in October 2025.
She broke into City’s first team during the 2021-22 season, making five appearances across the Women’s Super League and Women’s League Cup, while also gaining experience on loan at AFC Fylde and Coventry United.
Keating established herself as City’s first-choice goalkeeper in 2023-24, making 29 appearances in all competitions and winning the WSL Golden Glove award. She also featured in the UEFA Women’s Champions League during the 2024-25 campaign.
Last season, Keating made nine appearances, keeping four clean sheets as Manchester City secured the Women’s Super League and Women’s FA Cup double. In total, Keating racked up 65 appearances for Andrée Jeglertz’s side across her City career.
“I think everyone knows Liverpool worldwide. It’s such a big club and I think the women’s team is striving for greatness,” Keating told Liverpoolfc.com during her first interview at the AXA Melwood Training Centre.
“I think the style of football that they play, they actually try to play – which suits me and my position. “I think they’re just going in the right direction and [it is] a project that I want to be part of.”
“The start of my career has been nothing but amazing. I’ve gained platforms and done brilliantly so far. But I needed that missing [piece of the] puzzle,” she added.
“And I think Liverpool can be that – where I’m playing week in, week out and I’m getting good game time, playing with a good team and winning trophies.”
