Alisson Becker penned a lengthy letter to his fans after Brazil's shocking World Cup heartbreak.
The five-time winner of the quadrennial tournament was shockingly eliminated by Norway, 2-1, in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, thanks to a brace by Erling Haaland. As the country reeled from the loss on July 5, now the Liverpool star has taken to social media to speak out and share his thoughts.
The 33-year-old's comments come after he was spotted consoling Neymar Jr., who told reporters after the match that his time playing football seemed over.
In a recent Instagram post, Alisson wrote that he had originally hoped the caption he penned would be posted after Brazil won its sixth World Cup.
Instead, he shared it with his fans after a disappointing outing, in which he said the feelings of frustration and sadness were "immense" and raised a number of questions about how Brazil's World Cup journey ended so soon. Rather than just ponder on the past, the star said he wanted to get back on his feet "right away."
The star admitted that he had two choices: Either wallow in defeat or pick himself up and do something about the loss.

He also noted that life is filled with ups and downs, and it is up to each individual to determine what they want to do in those moments. The 33-year-old put his all into the tournament, and despite Brazil's failure to advance, he has a "constant drive" to keep giving it his all.
He concluded by thanking all the fans who stood behind him and the Brazilian national team, hoping their support continues. Liverpool will face Sunderland on July 25 in Nashville.
