The Denver Broncos have two excellent coordinators.
But with different levels of experience.
Defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is a seasoned veteran who’s been a head coach before and may very well be one again. He’s received multiple interviews each of the last two offseasons.
And offensive coordinator Davis Webb is a viewed as a rising star. In fact, Webb received looks last winter to jump right from quarterbacks coach to head coach. Owners and GMs around the league think that highly of his future.

So, for different reasons, folks view both Joseph and Webb in very high regard. Gilberto Manzano from Sports Illustrated is among those, ranking Joseph and Webb as the best coordinator duo in the NFL.
Manzano has the Broncos at No. 1 on his list, followed by the Rams (OC Nate Scheelhaase–DC Chris Shula), Jaguars (OC Grant Udinski–DC Anthony Campanile), 49ers (OC Klay Kubiak–DC Raheem Morris) and Vikings (OC Wes Phillips–DC Brian Flores) rounding out the top-5.
It’s a compliment to Joseph, who has proven his prowess as a coordinator, while Webb is banking on potential — of which he has plenty.
“It wouldn’t be a surprise if these two coordinators are head coaches in 2027, especially if the Broncos go on another lengthy playoff run,” Manzano wrote.
In a perfect world, Denver wins the Super Bowl and Joseph and Webb each land head-coaching gigs. That would be an excellent reward for their work helping the Broncos capture another Lombardi Trophy.

Unfortunately that time might have come and gone for Joseph, while the window for Webb to be a head coach is just opening. But this article made sure to give Joseph his flowers.
“His defense continues to reach new levels every year and ranked near the top in many statistical categories last season. Denver was second in yards allowed (278.2) and third in points allowed (18.3) per game last season. Let’s also not overlook how much star edge rusher Nik Bonitto has improved under his guidance,” Manzano wrote.
It’s a good combination for Broncos head coach Sean Payton to have as his coordinators. One who’s been around the block in Joseph and another with an extremely bright outlook in Webb.
