Arsenal forward set for immediate Tuesday medical to exit the Emirates

Leandro Trossard is closing in on the end of his Arsenal career after reportedly agreeing personal terms with Besiktas ahead of a proposed move to Turkey.

The Belgium international is understood to have accepted a contract running until 2029, with the option of an additional year, as Besiktas push to complete one of the biggest transfers of their summer.

Reports indicate Arsenal have already reached an agreement with Besiktas on a deal worth around €20 million, leaving only the final formalities before the transfer can be completed.

Trossard’s representative, Dirk Hebel, has confirmed the Turkish club have made a significant effort to secure the 31-year-old’s signature.

“I can confirm that Besiktas did everything they could to sign Leandro Trossard,” Hebel told Sky Germany.

“Leandro has all the offers on the table and will make his decision soon. He is a world-class player with several options, including staying at Arsenal.”

However, multiple reports now suggest the Belgian has opted to accept Besiktas’ proposal, with the move expected to be finalised in the coming days.

Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023 and quickly established himself as one of Mikel Arteta’s most reliable attacking options.

Capable of playing on either wing, through the middle or behind the striker, the Belgian became renowned for delivering important goals and assists in crucial moments.

He played an influential role during Arsenal’s Premier League title-winning campaign last season, making 50 appearances in all competitions as the Gunners ended their 22-year wait to become English champions.

Trossard also impressed at the World Cup, contributing two goals and three assists before Belgium were eliminated in the knockout stages.

Despite those performances, Arsenal have been open to selling the experienced forward with just one year remaining on his current contract.

The Gunners held talks over an extension earlier this year but failed to reach an agreement, prompting interest from several clubs.

Besiktas moved quickest to secure his signature and have made the Belgian one of their marquee targets under new head coach Vincenzo Italiano.

For Arsenal, Trossard’s departure would free up space in the attacking department as Arteta continues to reshape his squad ahead of another campaign challenging for major honours.

The Premier League champions remain active in the transfer market and are exploring opportunities to strengthen their forward line following another successful domestic season.

Once the remaining paperwork is completed, Trossard is expected to bring an end to a productive three-and-a-half-year spell in north London, having established himself as a dependable performer and an important contributor to Arsenal’s recent success.
