BLEIER KEYNOTE SPEAKER
The Steelers have had plenty of notable players in their franchise’s history. However, none have a story quite like Rocky Bleier. Bleier was initially a 16th-round pick by the Steelers in 1968, but he had to leave the team after one year because he was drafted to fight in the Vietnam War. While he suffered a serious injury during his service, he battled back to return to the Steelers and become a key part of their team.
Bleier’s story is one of the most inspirational in NFL history. He’s not afraid to share it, either. KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson posted on Twitter that Bleier was recently the keynote speaker at an annual charity event with Boots for Troops. Bleier was a good choice for the event, and Wilson includes some quick clips of the former Steeler speaking.
PAYTON WILSON TRAINING
While the Steelers’ defense is often criticized for the older age of some of its stars, it also has some promising young players. That includes Payton Wilson. He had injury concerns coming out of college, which caused him to fall in the draft. However, he’s stayed healthy in Pittsburgh, and while he’s not perfect, he’s still shown flashes of solid play.
This season figures to be an important one for Wilson, too. He’s only got two years left on his current contract. Therefore, if he steps up his game this year, he could be in for a nice payday next offseason. Wilson is gearing up to give 2026 his all, too, showing off his workouts on Instagram. Hopefully, his work will pay off, and he’ll help the Steelers’ defense return to form this year.
SCHEFTER NEW DEAL WITH ESPN
The NFL landscape has seen some big changes this year, particularly with ESPN purchasing the NFL Network. They were the two biggest media companies covering the NFL, but now they’re one entity. That doesn’t come without some changes, though. However, Adam Schefter’s job is safe.
ESPN PR shared on Twitter that the company re-signed Schefter to a multi-year deal. He’s ESPN’s biggest insider, and it doesn’t seem like he’s going anywhere soon.
