Former Alabama football safety Xavier McKinney was named to the 2026 NFL Top 100 on Monday.
McKinney has started 82 games across his six-year NFL career, with four seasons spent with the New York Giants, and most recently, two years spent with the Green Bay Packers. He is ranked No. 70 on the list, a 40-spot drop from last year.
After recording 107 tackles, 10 pass deflections and two interceptions in 2025, he attained Second-team All-Pro Honors, making him the first Packers defensive back since Charles Woodson to earn All-Pro honors in consecutive years.
He set records during his first season in Green Bay, too, as he became the first player since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger to record an interception in each of his first five games with a new team. He also earned First-team All-Pro Honors that season.
McKinney had two very efficient seasons with the Giants after being drafted to New York in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft; however, his other two seasons were cut quite short due to significant injuries suffered in 2020 and 2022.
Before beginning his pro career, McKinney starred in Alabama’s former legendary head coach Nick Saban’s defense from 2017 to 2019. He acquired 41 starts, 176 tackles, 13 for a loss, six sacks and 10 turnovers over his career in Tuscaloosa.
He broke out as a sophomore in 2018, tallying 73 tackles that season. He also won the Orange Bowl MVP after a standout performance over Oklahoma in the College Football Playoffs on the way to a National Championship victory.
During his junior season, he stepped up and announced himself. He recorded 95 tackles during the 2019 season to pair with four forced fumbles, which tied a school record. He also recorded three interceptions in his ultimate college season.
