Chelsea are stepping up their efforts to complete Pep Chavarría’s signing this summer.
The Blues sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid in June and want to replace him with the Rayo Vallecano player.
Chelsea have already made offers of around €9m and €15m. The La Liga side rejected those and referred to his €50m release clause.
Last week, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain that the Premier League side won’t give up.
They are pressing because Xabi Alonso is pushing for the Spaniard’s arrival at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea to make new offer for Chavarría
Marca now claim the west London club are accelerating, with the aim of reaching a total agreement to sign the 28-year-old.
Pep Chavarría has reached a ‘full agreement’ with Chelsea, who now have to agree terms with Rayo Vallecano. The parties continue negotiations as Xabi Alonso’s side want to finalise the signing this week.
To do this, the Blues are about to submit a new offer of €25m including bonuses.
The left-back is hopeful that the latest proposal will be enough for the two clubs to come to an agreement so that he can fulfil his Premier League dream.

Marca clais Rayo Vallecano president Raúl Martín Presa is leading the negotiations and will have a big say on this operation.
Presa has already rejected an offer of around €15m plus bonuses for Pep Chavarría over a week ago.
The fullback is so keen on a move that he has taken a pay cut to facilitate an agreement between the two clubs. It’s surprising that he will earn less at Chelsea than at the La Liga side.
Rayo Vallecano seem open to letting him leave if Chelsea offer €25m in fixed fee plus bonuses. Even then, the president will have the final say on whether to sanction the sale.
