Beşiktaş president Serdal Adalı has announced that Arsenal‘s Leandro Trossard will soon complete a permanent move.

The Black Eagles have been working on signing the forward for several weeks, after failing to get him last summer.

On July 9th, the Arsenal player’s agent, Dirk Hebel, and lawyer Anıl Dinçer were in Turkey to finalise his transfer.

A day later, Sport Witness covered claims from Turkey that Beşiktaş had agreed all demands to sign the 31-year-old. The move will see the Premier League winners collect €20m and he will earn €7m net per year in salary.

Announcement of Arsenal exit

Serdal Adalı has been speaking to the Turkish media on Tuesday morning, and Yeni Şafak relay his comments about Leandro Trossard.

The president revealed that he offered €25m to Mikel Arteta’s side and €8m per year salary to the attacker last summer.

However, the north London club rejected it and are now accepting a lower fee.

“I offered Arsenal €25m last year. I also offered Trossard €8m in salary, but it didn’t work out, they didn’t let him go. This time we’re getting him for less,” he said.

Gunners could benefit in future

The Belgium international has less than a year left on his contract, and Transfermarkt value him at €18m.

Apart from agreeing a transfer fee for the attacker, the Premier League winners have also secured a sell-on clause. Serdal Adalı has revealed this today.

“Even for 31-year-old Trossard, Arsenal want to include a percentage of any future sale. We want to add such a player to our squad. Trossard’s contract won’t be his last either,” Adalı explained.

The president’s comments would indicate that the Gunners could collect an additional fee from Leandro Trossard’s future sale.

He leaves Arsenal managing 36 goals and 34 assists from 174 matches, of which eight goals and 11 assists were from 50 matches last season.
