Argentina Predicted Lineup vs England– Will Messi Play?

Argentina vs England could prove to be an all-time classic World Cup clash. They’re two high-scoring teams with world-class attacking talents and a genuine rivalry in the middle of it all. What’s not to love?

La Albiceleste survived a scare in their quarter-final against Switzerland to make it this far. Likewise, England also had to battle through adversity to overcome a very game Norway outfit.

But who will Argentina field in their starting lineup against the Three Lions? After such a grueling encounter, will they make changes? Here is what we came up with.

GK: Emi Martinez

In the last World Cup, Emi Martinez was undoubtedly the best goalkeeper in the competition. He hasn’t been quite as impressive this year, but his spot as Argentina’s number one remains on lockdown.

RB: Nahuel Molina

An excellent attacking full-back, Nahuel Molina has played in five of Argentina’s six World Cup games so far. With no injury concerns to speak of, it’s highly likely he’ll keep his spot.

CB: Lisandro Martinez

Manchester United’s Lisandro Martinez will have the unenviable task of containing Harry Kane on Wednesday night. We’re expecting a full-blooded, bad-tempered battle between he, Kane and Bellingham – they don’t call him ‘The Butcher’ for nothing.

CB: Cristian Romero

This one might be in doubt. Cristian Romero was absolutely exhausted when subbed off against Switzerland, but in truth, we’re not sure if Argentina have a superior replacement for him. To that end, we think he’ll keep his spot.
