Arsenal Women confirm the signing of Lisa Baum

As reported by Arseblog News in June, Arsenal have completed the signing of German winger Lisa Baum from RB Leipzig. The 19-year-old, who was also wanted by Barcelona, will wear the number 19 shirt. Arseblog News understands this is a three year deal with an option for a further year.

Born in Tanzania, Baum moved to Germany at the age of four and signed with Hamburger SV in 2021, before joining Werder Bremen in 2022. She moved to RB Leipzig last summer where she made 26 appearances and scored six goals.

Baum is a left-footed winger who usually operates on the right side and has played at full-back too. “I’m so happy to join Arsenal and I can’t wait to get started,” said Baum. “This league is so competitive and Arsenal is a big club, so I’m excited to challenge myself and compete with the best. I want to win trophies and develop my game, and Arsenal feels like the perfect match to achieve that.”

Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “We’re delighted to complete the signing of Lisa. One of the most highly rated young wingers in Europe, Lisa has a high ceiling and we feel this is the perfect place for her to develop and thrive. We look forward to watching her journey here with us at Arsenal.”

Head Coach Renée Slegers said: “Lisa is a young wide forward who will bring direct intent and athleticism to our attacking group. At 19, she is still developing and we believe she has huge potential, which we will support her to achieve. We welcome her to Arsenal and look forward to the road ahead together.”
