Chelsea player left in limbo despite BlueCo’s new attempts to get rid of him

Xabi Alonso is finally in the building, and much has been made of his first press conference as Chelsea manager. One thing is clear, the summer window is hotting up with Alonso at Cobham.

Alonso’s stance on Alejandro Garnacho has emerged, with the club actively trying to offload the former Manchester United winger. Alonso himself has said he would like to build his side around Cole Palmer.

Sorry, but there are WORSE players than Alejandro Garnacho at Chelsea who aren’t being pushed out of the club

The former Liverpool midfielder also made it clear he would like to keep Enzo Fernandez, who is set to start for Argentina against England on Wednesday night in the second 2026 World Cup semi-final.

But plenty of other Chelsea players have been linked with the exit door, and another of those is Trevoh Chalobah. The defender is said to be keen on a move to Italy after speaking to Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Chelsea move to sell Trevoh Chalobah but he’s been left in limbo

The situation is clear. Chalobah has a contract at Chelsea until June 2028, with the option of another year and both Como and Inter Milan are interested. Chelsea want a £35m fee for England’s World Cup player.

Como have made a bid of £25m but it wasn’t deemed enough, while reports in Italy said Inter were set to sign Chalobah. But as things stand, the defender’s hope of a move to Italy is beginning to evaporate.

That is because Inter and Como have moved onto other targets. According to Alfredo Pedulla, Chelsea have reached out to both Como and Inter in the last few hours to gauge whether Chalobah will be sold.

Pedulla reports, unfortunately for Chelsea and Chalobah, that Inter are pushing for Anan Khalaili, though more recent claims suggest he may have failed a medical. Como are pushing to sign Davinson Sanchez.

He posted on X: “Chalobah: Chelsea has reached out again to Como since Inter remains in a stand-by position after the Khalaili affair. But Como, for now, is moving forward with Sanchez.”

Does Trevoh Chalobah have any other potential suitors?

With Italy looking more and more unlikely, Chalobah and Chelsea must find other alternatives. His future at Stamford Bridge does feel like it has run its course after a poor showing during the 2025-26 season.

Trevoh Chalobah has been getting away it for too long 😑

This is alarming!

Luckily for Chalobah, his versatility and age make him a viable asset in the Premier League. Oliver Glasner has been appointed Nottingham Forest manager and wanted Chalobah while he was at Crystal Palace.

Of course, Chalobah spent time on loan at Palace and now, Glasner could make a move for Chalobah in the coming weeks and months. But Chalobah’s hopes of a move to Italy are growing smaller and smaller.
