‘At least one conversation held’–Arsenal taking sure steps to sign player

Arsenal are in contact with Club Brugge regarding Christos Tzolis and have held ‘at least one meeting’ regarding the 24-year-old.

Het Laatste Nieuws report that Club Brugge and Arsenal have made initial contact regarding taking the forward this summer.

Arsenal open talks

The newspaper reports that Christos Tzolis is very much on Arsenal’s list as they look for replacements for Leandro Trossard.

At this point, Mikel Arteta’s side have not made a concrete offer. But Arsenal have made contact with Club Brugge regarding a possible transfer.

According to HLN’s information, Club Brugge have held at least one conversation with the Premier League champions.

The belief is that Arsenal want to ‘have all the facts on the table’ before making a decision regarding the winger. They also want to be in that position before ay an initial official bid for the 24-year-old.

€40m or more needed

Christos Tzolis is, reportedly, one of several options being explored. Reports in England have linked the likes of Morgan Rogers and Kenan Yildiz with potential moves also. But HLN argue the arrival of either player would not necessarily rule out a move for Tzolis.

For now, Club Brugge are awaiting an official bid from Arsenal. They are yet to set a fixed price for Tzolis, although they are hoping to secure a record fee for him.

They’ve already turned down big bids in the past. They rejected a €40m offer from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window. The Eagles are still showing interest in Tzolis today. Clubs in Germany are also keeping a close eye on the situation.

A record sale for Brugge would mean securing a deal that betters Charles De Ketelaere’s €37.5m move to AC Milan in 2023. Whether Arsenal are willing to beat that, remains to be seen. But with €20m secured from Trossard, they will at least have half of those funds available.
