The Athletic’s Deal Sheet is out today, and there’s an update on the situation around central defender Trevoh Chalobah.
The academy product is still the subject of talks between Chelsea and Como. Cesc Fabregas’ team “have had two bids turned down.”
Chelsea’s asking price remains at £35m, according to this report. Given Chalobah’s presence as a regular in the last few years, it feels like they will get it.

Until now it has felt like Inter Milan were in the lead for Chalobah. There was even talk that they had a gentleman’s agreement with Inter to not bid until the title-winners had finished their talks. We’re not sure what’s changed – perhaps Inter decided the price was too high. Either way, Como now appear to be leading the race.
Chalobah is still at the World Cup with England, but before too long he will want his future sorted. Chelsea also want to proceed with their interest in the likes of Maxence Lacroix as the defender’s replacement, and need the deal done in time for that.

Also on the sales front, the club are extremely confident they can sell Alejandro Garnacho within the next two weeks – we’re not quite sure who will take him, but it’s all very promising.
Valentin Barco will be joining this summer, but nobody is quite sure when the deal will be announced or why it hasn’t been already.
