Chelsea’s “untouchable” players wouldn’t be sold at any realistic price, and the club have added two names to that list this summer.

This morning we were blessed with the arrival of the Athletic’s Deal Sheet. This afternoon, it’s the Sun’s Chelsea Files which has the inbox.
It contains some interesting updates on who Chelsea think are their “untouchables,” following a window which has seen important first team squad members Marc Cucurella and Andrey Santos sold, and has seen the likes of Treovh Chalobah linked away.

It’s clear who some of those players are – the ones the club wouldn’t sell for any (realistic) offer. Moises Caicedo, Reece James, Estevao and Levi Colwill are probably up there.
The Sun’s piece claims that the list now also includes Joao Pedro – unsurprising given how far ahead of our other striker options he is, and more surprisingly, Josh Acheampong.
The young defender has certainly not been treated like an indispensable piece of the team’s future, and fans have spent much of the last year bemoaming his lack of minutes. Time and again we’ve had bits of news like this which insist on how much the club rate him, but until we see it reflected in team decisions, we can’t really believe it.
In other news…
Malo Gusto has been linked to Man City all summer – but the difference in valuation between what they’re offering and what Chelsea want remains a major stumbling block.
Chelsea also seem likely to sell Trevoh Chalobah – but they are being patient and waiting for suitors Como and Inter to start offering more.
