Liverpool have reportedly turned down another offer from Inter Milan for Curtis Jones, with the Italian club’s latest in a run of proposals dismissed immediately.
Andoni Iraola has made clear he would like Jones to stay as part of his Liverpool squad, with the head coach saying he wants to keep him “not only for this year.”
But with the midfielder into the final 12 months of his current deal that would require negotiation over a new contract.
With talks not underway as of yet, Liverpool continue to field interest from clubs in the Premier League and beyond – and chiefly, Serie A champions Inter.
talkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs now reports that Inter have made another informal offer of €32 million (£27.3m), which the Reds have “rejected out of hand.”

Liverpool value Jones at upwards of €40 million (£34.2m) and are happy for him to remain on Merseyside – and if he does so, would be open to extending his contract.
Much will depend on the 25-year-old’s own desires, but conversations will take place with Iraola and the higher-ups following his return for pre-season.
Jones was among the first players back at the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday morning as preparations for the new campaign begin.
He clearly remains in positive spirits and can be expected to travel with the first-team squad for their tour of the United States next week.
Inter are now reported to have made three offers for a player who is considered their priority midfield target, with Liverpool viewing their previous proposals of £17.3 million and £21.7 million as derisory.
It was even communicated that, as a result of those low-ball offers, Liverpool no longer considered Inter a realistic buyer.
But Inter have remained at the table and are at least edging closer to the Reds’ valuation, with only €8 million (£6.8m) separating the two clubs.
Liverpool have so far sold two players this summer – both academy graduates – with Luca Stephenson joining Bolton for £700,000 and Carter Pinnington heading to West Brom in a structured deal which saw no payment up front.

Allowing Jones to leave would mean there are no Scousers in the senior squad, with Iraola already aware of the importance of local-born talent.
“I rate Curtis very highly,” the head coach told reporters on Monday.
“For me he is a great, great player, and I hope he can continue with us and continue performing the way he has been performing.
“It’s very important that he’s Scouse, that he’s from here.
“I also like the personality. From the outside, at least, he looks like a player with good character, and I hope we can keep him, not only for this year but for more time.”
