AS Roma have submitted their first offer for wantaway Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to reports in Italy.
The 22-year-old is expected to leave Stamford Bridge after just one season at the club, and Roma are among the teams keeping close tabs on his situation in west London ahead of a possible summer deal.
It’s understood that Chelsea and Garnacho have both agreed to pursue a permanent sale before the end of the summer transfer window, and he is yet to report to the Blues’ Cobham training base for pre-season as he explores his options.
Furthermore, when asked about the Argentine during his first press conference as Chelsea manager, Xabi Alonso said: “Well the situation, we have spoken with the sports directors and there is an interest from him, from other clubs, so let's see how it develops. But hopefully it finishes in the best possible way for all the parties.”
Serie A side Roma have been heavily linked with a move for Garnacho in recent weeks and they have now lodged their first official bid, according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio" href="https://www.gianlucadimarzio.com/calciomercato/offerta-roma-garnacho-prestito-diritto-riscatto-fissato-494777" target="_blank">Gianluca Di Marzio.
It’s claimed that Roma have submitted a €5 million loan offer, with the option to make the deal permanent for €35m next summer. If certain conditions are met, however, this clause will automatically be triggered.
Chelsea are yet to respond to Roma’s first bid, although it has previously been reported that only a permanent sale would be considered, with the Blues not interested in sending Garnacho out on loan for the 2026-27 season.

Analysis: How much is Alejandro Garnacho worth?
Despite Garnacho’s underwhelming form during his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s valuation of the winger is spot-on.
The Blues want a fee of €50m to sanction a sale and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €49.6m.
This is a notable dip from his career-peak of €70.9m back in September 2024, but it’s still a notable figure and is largely due to the fact he is still only 22 years old and has six years remaining on his current contract at Chelsea.
As a result, Alonso’s side may well hold out for a more significant offer from Roma or any other interested parties.
