‘Has Established Himself’: NFL Insider Believes Seattle Seahawks WR Rashid Shaheed Will Have…

The Seattle Seahawks traded for wide receiver Rashid Shaheed from the New Orleans Saints at the NFL trade deadline last season. It was a small move but very important move for Seattle. This move helped the Seahawks offense and special teams last season. They won the Super Bowl last season and are looking to repeat as Super Bowl Champions.

Saad Yousuf of the Athletic covers the Seahawks. He listed one potential breakout player for Seattle this upcoming 2026 NFL season. Yousuf thinks that Shaheed could have a breakout season for Seattle. He said about the Seahawks wide receiver,

“A running back — Jadarian Price, Zach Charbonnet or George Holani — would be the obvious choice here, but that position has been the focus for most offseason questions, so let’s branch out a bit. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had his breakout campaign in 2025, so defenses will be gearing up to stop him. Cooper Kupp is still a reliable veteran, but he’s getting older and missed at least five games in the three seasons before last year. Shaheed has established himself as an electric returner, but he hasn’t hit his potential as a wide receiver. In his four NFL seasons, he’s never had 60 catches or 1,000 yards receiving in a campaign. New offensive coordinator Brian Fleury is taking over after seven years in San Francisco under Kyle Shanahan, where he’s seen how dynamic weapons can be maximized.”

It will be interesting to see how often the Seahawks wide receiver will be on the field. He is also on the field for special teams. Shaheed is one of those players that will be useful to stretch the field and have quarterback Sam Darnold connect with him deep. There is no doubt that he will be a key component in this Seattle offense.
