Andoni Iraola faced the media for the first time on Monday and admitted Liverpool still need further additions to the squad before the transfer window closes.
Jeremy Jacquet has arrived from Rennes, while Victor Munoz will join later this summer following his involvement at the World Cup. However, the Reds are still looking to strengthen in several areas, particularly out wide.

With Yan Diomande no longer a target, Bradley Barcola has emerged as Liverpool’s leading winger option, although there are significant doubts over the Paris Saint-Germain forward’s availability.
Meanwhile, speculation continues over potential departures. Curtis Jones remains the player most strongly linked with a move away, although the midfielder has appeared to dismiss reports claiming he has agreed a deal with Nottingham Forest. Iraola has also addressed Jones’ future.
Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic as they assess defensive options.
However, the Reds look set to miss out after Brighton & Hove Albion officially completed the signing of the Croatia international from Spurs for a club-record £46million on a five-year contract, with the fee potentially rising to £50million through add-ons.
Vuskovic joined Tottenham from Hajduk Split in 2025 after agreeing the move two years earlier and spent last season on loan at Hamburg, where he made 30 Bundesliga appearances and scored six goals.
Vuskovic replaces Netherlands international Jan Paul van Hecke in Fabian Hurzeler’s squad after the defender completed a £52million move to Tottenham.
The centre-back came through the academy at hometown club Hajduk Split, becoming the youngest player to feature in the Croatian top flight at just 16 before also becoming the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer.
After an impressive loan spell with Hamburg last season, Vuskovic was named the Bundesliga’s Rookie of the Season and earned a place in the league’s Team of the Year.
The 19-year-old has already made six senior appearances for Croatia, scoring once, and made his World Cup debut against England during last month’s group stage.
Fabian Hurzeler said: “Luka has enjoyed a fantastic start to his career – it’s one we’ve followed closely. “Last season he demonstrated he can play at a very high level and we want to help him build on that within our environment.
“There’s been a lot of external noise about Luka joining us, but he is still a young guy who will need time to adjust to the demands of playing for Brighton and the Premier League. We are confident that he will take this in his stride though.”
