Tony Romo is an NFL icon who spent his entire career with the Dallas Cowboys. The retired quarterback hung up his cleats for good in 2016, 13 years after going undrafted. He is a four-time Pro Bowler and the 2014 NFL passer rating and completion percentage leader.
The Eastern Illinois product took over as the starting quarterback in 2006. He became Dallas’all-time leader in passing touchdowns with 248 and compiled 34,183 passing yards.
Romo has since transitioned into broadcasting. He serves as the lead NFL analyst for CBS Sports. The 46-year-old has been well-received for his insightful commentary and his ability to accurately predict offenses’ plays before snaps. He signed a blockbuster 10-year, $180 million contract in 2020, making him the highest-paid analyst in sports television at the time.

Tony Romo Shares Only Regret With Cowboys
Romo opened up on what he regrets in his career. He admitted that failing to bring a Super Bowl to Dallas still haunts him. The NFL icon added that he didn’t move to another team to chase a ring.
“I’m not a guy with big regrets, I guess you could say,” Romo said on the “Pardon My Take” podcast. “The only regret I guess I would have is that my job was to bring a Super Bowl to Dallas and I didn’t do it. So that always sticks with me a little bit. Because you give your whole body, heart, soul, everything into it.
“And you just wanted that for all the fans. The Joneses. For everybody that you’re around. And so that one always sticks with me a little bit just because I had that opportunity and just wasn’t able to do it. So that part of it kind of still sits there.”
The Cowboys did not advance past the Divisional Round during Romo’s time. Dallas is still aiming to secure its first Super Bowl since 1996, with Dak Prescottnow starring under center and Brian Schottenheimer as head coach.
