Former Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe has pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend outside her home after the pair became embroiled in a dispute over money, a court has heard.
Ibe, 30, previously denied the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm - which took place outside the victim's home in south London in December - back in March, but spoke at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (Jul. 14) to confirm his personal details and change his plea to guilty.
It comes just a few weeks after the ex-Liverpool star, who was sold to Bournemouth for $20 million in 2016, saw his contract with Bulgarian first division outfit Lokomotiv Sofia ripped up after just seven months, leaving him looking for the 12th club of his senior career.
Ibe's future in the professional game, however, is now in doubt as he prepares to be sentenced at Croydon Magistrates' Court on September 4.
The former England U21 international attacked his ex-partner, Amie Mayson, outside of her home in Lambeth, south London, on December 14, 2025, the court heard, after they became embroiled in a dispute over money.
Upon arriving at the property with a bag of drinks, snacks, and flowers, Ibe is said to have been confronted by Ms. Mayson, who demanded that he repay money she claimed was owed to her.

After Ms. Mayson labeled Ibe a "druggy", prosecutors stated that the footballer grabbed her by the hair and pulled a braid from her head, leaving her with a bald spot.
In a victim impact statement read out in court on Tuesday, Ms. Mayson said: "Looking in the mirror is very distressing for me, the injury is a constant reminder of what happened and often leaves me feeling emotionally drained and upset."
District Judge Polly Gledhill told the court: "We are in community order territory and I am going to ask for a pre-sentence report. I am not ruling anything out."
Ibe has been granted bail with conditions stating he must not contact Ms. Mayson or visit her residence, ahead of his sentencing at Croydon Magistrates' Court on September 4.

Ibe's career has quickly gone downhill since leaving Bournemouth in 2020
Ibe is best remembered for his time at Anfield, where he made 58 appearances and was part of the team when Jurgen Klopp first took over as manager back in 2015 after joining from Wycombe Wanderers as a teenager.
Despite remaining in the Premier League with his big-money move to Bournemouth in 2016, Ibe's career hasn't quite gone as it might have been expected, having signed for a further seven teams and dropped as low as the eighth tier of English soccer.
Following four seasons with Bournemouth, Ibe made failed moves to Championship outfit Derby County and Turkish side Adanaspor, before returning to England with non-league outfits Ebbsfleet United, Hayes & Yeading United, Hungerford Town, and Sittingbourne.

On 15 November 2025, Ibe joined Bulgarian First League side Lokomotiv Sofia, signing a contract until 2027. Just seven months into his two-year deal, however, his contract was terminated by mutual consent, and he remains a free agent.
