Cleveland Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger was great during his rookie season in the NFL. During his rookie season with Cleveland, he recorded 156 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions, and three pass deflections. The 23-year-old was a second-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.

His strong rookie season had a lot of people across the league on alert. The Browns have some young talented players on the team. Cleveland finished with a 5-12 record last season. Schwesinger is one of the building blocks of this defense for the long haul.
Personnel Executive Makes Strong Comparison For Cleveland Browns Linebacker Carson Schwesinger

Many different executives across the NFL interviewed with ESPN.com NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler about the top linebackers in the NFL. Schwesinger was listed as the third-best linebacker on espn.com entering the 2026 NFL season. One personnel executive with an NFL team said about him,
“He’s [Luke] Kuechly reincarnated. Elite speed, athleticism, instincts, ball skills.”
Comparing him to Carolina Panthers great linebacker Luke Kuechly this early in his NFL career is bold. He went to a Super Bowl, won a defensive player of the year award, and is also a hall of famer. Schwesinger also won rookie of the year on defense just like Kuechly did. This is an interesting comparison here, but it will be interesting to see where the rest of his NFL career goes here.
