The Chicago Bears have gone the entire 2026 NFL offseason without addressing one of their biggest needs coming into the offseason: edge rusher.
While they've addressed safety with Coby Bryant and Dillon Thieneman, and added Devin Bush to their linebacker room, the Bears' defensive line is still a bit of a question mark. The issue is that the Bears don't have the resources to make a blockbuster trade.
However, instead of someone like Maxx Crosby, Bleacher Report's Moe Moton is urging the Bears to take a swing on Kansas City Chiefs' first-round bust edge rusher, Felix Anudike-Uzomah.

"Chicago Bears: Trade a late 2027 pick for Kansas City Chiefs DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah," Moton writes.
Adding another edge rusher to the Bears' defensive front makes sense, and Anudike-Uzomah could be a realistic and affordable trade target.
He missed all of the 2025 season, and the two prior season, while playing in all 17 games, he made just three starts, recording 3.0 total sacks with eight tackles for loss and 41 tackles.
In his two seasons with the Chiefs, he has just 19 total pressures. For a first-round edge rusher, that's incredibly disappointing. But, for the Bears, that's some good news.

Trading for Anudike-Uzomah shouldn't cost much at all, even though he's a former first-rounder who is on his rookie deal. But this upcoming year is the last one on that rookie deal, as the 2023 first-rounder is hitting free agency after the 2026 season.
Anudike-Uzomah is 24 years old, a Super Bowl champion, and likely to hit free agency after the 2026 season. Kansas City doesn't really need him, while the Bears could use him.
The cost would likely not be much more than a late draft pick, no greater than a sixth-round pick, if it gets that expensive.
But, taking a chance on the 31st pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, considering the Bears' limitations financially, makes this move one that'd make a ton of sense for Chicago.
