The Dallas Cowboys are looking to find their way into the Super Bowl after just passing the 30th anniversary of the last time the franchise won the Lombardi Trophy. They have made some intriguing additions to the roster this offseason in an attempt to get back to the promised land. However, they have received some unfortunate news regarding one of their newest players. Let’s take a deeper dive into who it is and what the news is.

The Dallas Cowboys are going to be without one of their players for multiple games to begin the 2026 season. The NFL announced Commissioner Roger Goodell has suspended defensive end Charles Snowden for the first three games of the year. The announcement did not specify the reason behind the suspension. Snowden will be able to participate in all the preseason practices and games, but will not be able to be with the team once the regular season begins.
The Dallas Cowboys will be without Snowden for the following games:
at New York Giants
vs. Washington Commanders
vs. Baltimore Ravens
He will be able to return in Week 4 on the road against the Houston Texans. Snowden signed with the Dallas Cowboys following a tryout during the team’s minicamp last month, signing a one-year contract after being with the Las Vegas Raiders. Snowden finished the 2925 season playing 15 games (nine starts) and recorded 28 total tackles (17 solo, 11 assists) with three sacks, four quarterback hits, one interception, two pass deflections, and five tackles for loss.
He’s going to be facing an uphill battle to make the Dallas Cowboys’ 53-man roster, and now this could be something that causes a wrinkle in those plans. With the reporting centering around a possible 2024 DUI being the cause for the suspension, which is not confirmed to be the reasoning behind this suspension, the Cowboys would have known this could be a scenario that the league can determine.
It will be interesting to see what the Cowboys decide to do following the news of a suspension for one of their players.
